‘Rajendra Prasad’ wass born on December 03, 1884. He was born in Village Ziradei, siwan district in bihar. His father’s name was Mahadev Sahai, a scholar of Persian and Sansskrit Language. His mothe’ss name was Kamleshwari Devi.

In his childhood, Rajendra Babu used to sleep early and wake up early in the morning to wake up his mother as well, so his mother used to recite Bhajan-Kirtan, Prabhati to him daily. Not only this, she used to narrate stories of Mahabharata-Ramayana to her dear son and Rajendra Babu used to listen to them very diligently.
His early education was from the district school of Chapra (Bihar). At the age of just 18, he passed the entrance examination of Kolkata University from the first position and then enrolled in the famous Presidency College, Kolkata and earned his doctorate in the field of law. He was fully familiar with Hindi, English, Urdu, Bengali and Persian languages.
Rajendra Babu was married to Rajvanshidevi at the age of about 13 in childhood. Their marital life was happy and there was never any hindrance in their studies and other work.
Beginning his career as a lawyer, his debut became the Indian independence movement. He was a person of very gentle and serious nature. People of all classes respected him. He was pleased with everyone and used to meet the serene spirit.
His term as President of India ranged from 26 January 1950 to 14 May 1962. On his retirement in 1962, he was also awarded the best title of ‘Bharataratna’.
While in the presidency, many times there were odd issues of differences, but he had set his own limits even after being distinguished in the presidency. Simplicity and naturalness permeated his personality. There was always a smile on his face, which fascinated everyone. Rajendra Prasad was the President of the Indian National Congress more than once.
