HBCSE Science Olympiad 2020 is a national Olympiad program in Biology, Chemistry, Physics Junior Science and Astronomy. This science Olympiad is conducted in 5 stages wherein the shortlisted candidates get a chance to represent India at the International level in various fields of science mentioned above. The official body responsible for conducting this Olympiad is Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) and its official site is olympiads.hbcse.tifr.res.in.

Let us understand each stage of selection one by one. Candidate has to clear each stage in order to appear for the next one.
Stage 1: National Standard Examination aka NSE

National Standard Examination (NSE) is conducted by Indian Association of Physics Teachers while rest of the successive stages is conducted by HBCSE. Lets check out the details schedule of each stage.

NSE Complete details
This stage consists of examinations at national level which are Chemistry (NSEC), Astronomy (NSEA), Biology (NSEB), and Physics (NSEP).
Eligibility Criteria:
- The candidate must be an Indian citizen with valid passport and studying in India before before November 30, 2017
- The age criteria varies with each exam, please check that in brochure attached below.
Paper Language: English and Hindi for NSEA, NSEB, NSEC and NSEJS and for NSEP, Gujarati and Bangla are provided additionally.

INO Complete details
This is the second stage of examination which is allowed to be given by qualified students of stage 1.
Eligibility:
- Score should be equal to or more than Minimum Admissible Score (MAS).
- Should have score equal to or more than Merit Index (MI)
OCSC Complete details
Based on the performance of Indian national Olympiad students will be shortlisted for OCSC. Here Orientation of Experimental, theoretical and observational tasks are provided. Multiple tests is also conducted here to select students for further stage.
The number of students to be selected for OCSC (Astronomy) in 2020 will be 15 from Group A (Class 12) and 35 from Group B (Class 11 and lower). The number of students selected for OCSC in all other subjects will be 35,
Pre-departure camp Complete details
In this stage students will be given intense training and learning at HBCSE, so that they can prepare well in inter nation Olympiad

HBCSE Science Olympiad 2019-2020 Results
