IIM Admission 2021-23: To get admission in Indian Institute of Management (IIM) across the country, the first step is to clear CAT 2020. Which was held online on 29 November 2020. The IIM admission process for management courses 2021-23 has started. Based on which shortlisting of candidates is included.
Written Aptitude Test (WAT), Group Discussion Round (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) are to be conducted online in the country in view of COVID-19 crisis.
There are currently 20 IIMs across the country, with most MBA degrees instead of Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). Top IIMs like IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, IIM Bangalore, IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode and others announced their entry criteria 2021-2023 in August 2020. The most important aspect of IIM admission is CAT percentile.
Due to the status of COVID-19 infection this year, two major changes may occur in IIM admission 2021. Many IIMs can skip their GD and Watt rounds and only conduct PI rounds online before admitting students.
All IIMs, including top IIMs like IIM Bangalore, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, can start the academic session 2021-23 in online mode.
IIM Admission and Selection Process
Stage I: Shortlisting of candidates based on their CAT score
Candidates are invited to apply for the WAT / GD-PI round through each IIM through its official website after the results of CAT are declared. Candidates who have completed the shortlist have to log in with their CAT ID to submit their name and CAT score.
Stage II: Screening of candidates for GD-PI / WAT
In the second phase, applicants for WAT / GD-PI are listed on the basis of their CAT score and academic record, after which interview letters are sent to the selected candidates.
Step III: Computation of overall score and final selection
In the third stage, to finalize the selection of the candidate, the overall score of each candidate is calculated based on different criteria.
The final selection process for IIM admission involves assessing a candidate for a specific set of criteria and calculating his or her overall score.
