UPTET 2019: Notification, Exam Date, Eligibility

UPTET 2019 is a state level test conducted for the recruitment of Primary and Upper Primary level Teachers at various schools across the State of Uttar Pradesh. The exam is conducted annually by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB). The schedule for UPTET 2019 has not been officially announced by the UPBEB yet, but any update from the official board will be updated in this article itself.

Eligibility Criteria

The Examination Regulatory Authority, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh has set the eligibility criteria that aspiring candidates have to fulfill to appear at the written UPTET 2019 exam. The candidates before applying for the test, must make sure they fulfill all the requirement clauses of the eligibility criteria. If a candidate without the required qualifications submits an application, his/her application will stand rejection. Here we are providing a shorter, summarized version of the detailed list of required qualifications prescribed by UPBEB,

Nationality: Indian

Age: No age restriction here

Educational Qualification: Here are two categories that candidates wishing to appear can choose from:

For Teaching Classes I – V

  • The candidates should have completed a graduation / diploma or National Teacher Education Parishad examination from a UPBEB recognized Educational Institution.

For Teaching Classes VI – VIII

  • The candidates should have obtained a Bachelor or Master degree from a recognized institution, or should have completed B.Ed with 50% in Aggregate.

Change in Eligibility: Since last year, i.e. from UPTET 2018 the UP Education Board has introduced the D.El.Ed. (earlier known as BTC) in Eligibility norms. So those who have a certificate of having passed the D.El.Ed. course can apply for the Paper-II which is required for recruitment into a teaching post for Classes VI – VIII.

UPTET Application Form 2019

The Application Form for UPTET 2019 will be available on the official website of Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board, www.upbasiceduboard.gov.in as per the schedule of the examination, which has not been released by the official board as of yet. Candidates can access the online application form from the website or from here, when it will become available, it will be updated immediately. An application fee has to be submitted along with the online application form for appearing in the UPTET 2019.

Application Fee (Last year): The application fee for general and APW category candidates is Rs. 500/- while candidates belonging to the SC / ST category need to pay an amount of Rs. 300/- as the requisite application fee.

UPTET Admit Card 2019

The Admit Card for appearing in UPTET 2019 will be issued only to those candidates who will have successfully submitted their Online Application Form along with a full payment of theie category-specific application fee. The Admit Card is the most important document that needs to be carried by the candidate to the exam center on the day of the Examination. According to the expected schedule of UPTET 2019, the Admit Card will be uploaded and made available for download for candidates towards the last week of October 2019.

Candidates can download their Admit Card from the official website of UPTET www.upbasicedubord.gov.in. The applicants must get a print-out of their admit card and should retain it till the end of their selection procedure, as it will be crucial at each stage of the process. The Admit Card of UPTET contain important information regarding the test such as the exam date and time-slot, and exam center for the test. No candidate without their Admit Card will be allowed to enter the Examination Hall, hence will not appear in the Examination.

Exam Pattern

In this section preparing candidates will be able to learn about the prescribed exam pattern for the UP state Teacher’s Eligibility Test. There will be 2 papers, Paper-I is for candidates who are applying for the position of Primary School Teacher (Classes I – V) and Paper-II for candidates applying for the position of Upper Primary Teacher (Classes VI – VIII)

Mode of Exam: Offline; Pen / Paper based

Nature of Exam: Objective type questions.

Marking Sceme: 1 mark for each correct answer; no negative marking.

Duration of Exam: 2 hours 30 minutes for each paper.

UPTET Result 2019

The UPTET 2019 Result will be announced after the successful commencement of the Examination and release of the Final Answer Key. Between these two above mentioned events there is a short period during which the Board will release the provisional Answer Key, giving an opportunity to candidates to contest their recorded responses. After careful consideration, the Board will publish the Final Answer Key with the changes in answer choices they thus made (or did not) along with the question paper.

The candidates will be able to view their Result on the official website of UPTET after the declaration of the Result. The candidates will need to enter their roll number to check their result. It is advised that the candidates get a print-out of their result as soon as they get it, as it will be required for all future references and for recruitment purposes.

UPTET 2019 Cut-off: Candidates who shall appear in the UPTET 2019 must score the minimum cut-off for the exam to qualify for recruitment. The minimum marks that should be scored to qualify the examination are 60% or more in UPTET 2019. This is based on last year’s cutoff we are providing in this article, because of the lack of the official announcement for the coming year’s UPTET, but any new announcement or change will be updated in this section.

By scoring the qualifying marks, the candidates will be considered as TET pass. The Government / local body / Government-aided / unaided school management boards shall consider these TET scores in the recruitment process.
