The Class 8 exams for the Punjab Board were held from February 25 to March 22, 2023, with an overall pass percentage of 98.01%. Out of the total 2,98,127 candidates who appeared for the exams, 2,92,206 cleared it. Girls have outperformed boys yet again this year, with a pass percentage of 98.68%, while boys achieved a pass percentage of 97.41%.
Last year, in 2022, more than 3,07,942 candidates had registered for the Class 8 exams, out of which 3,02,558 passed, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 98.25%. Girls had outshined boys with a pass percentage of 98.70%, whereas boys achieved a pass percentage of 97.86%.
In 2022, Pathankot had the highest pass percentage in the state with 99.56%, followed by Kapurthala (99.16%) and Hoshiarpur (90.02%). In contrast, Sangrur district had the lowest pass percentage of 96.76%.
