History of National Science Day
28 February 1928 was a great day in India when the invention of Indian science was completed by the famous Indian physicist Chandrashekhar Venkat Raman. He was a Tamil Brahmin and was the first person in the field of science to research such inventions in India. In order to always remember and honor this program in the future, the Indian government was asked by the National Council for Science and Technological Communication in 1986 to nominate 28 February as National Science Day in India.
Since then, National Science Day has been celebrated throughout the year of India as a great program in the field of Indian science. It is celebrated every year by students, teachers, institutes, and researchers, including schools, colleges, universities, technical and research institutes of India, medical, academic, scientific institutions. On the occasion of the first celebration of National Science Day in India, the National Council for Science and Technology Communication was announced by the National Science Publication Award for a commendable effort and excellent recognition in the field of science communication and publicization.
Sir Chandrashekhar Venkat Raman worked at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, during which he researched many points of physics, among which the “Raman effect” (effect on the spread of light When it is passed through various things) became his great success and discovery which became famous in Indian history.
